*Applications must be submitted 3-4 months prior to the institute start date. Upon approval of the application, Lions International will provide the curriculum and additional support resources.
Check your eligibility
There are two ways to apply for a local FDI: the Institute Grant Program and the Local Institute Program. Regardless of the application type, only one application — funded or unfunded — will be approved per multiple district or single district each year.

Apply for a grant to offset the costs of an FDI.
- Multiple districts are eligible to receive up to US$4,500.
- Single districts are eligible to receive up to US$1,800.
Learn more about the Institute Grant Program.

Organize an FDI that is locally funded and independent of financial support from Lions International.
The FDI Experience
This three-day institute will develop and expand the number of skilled Lions faculty available for use in training at the club, district, and multiple district levels. A post institute training assignment (within 6 months) marks the completion of the institute and confirms participants as FDI Graduates.
