Centennial Overview

Participants will review the Centennial team and theme, gain an understanding of the strategic impact of the Centennial celebration, and discuss the main program components.

Multiple District Centennial Coordinator Responsibilities

Participants will learn about the importance of continuous education/communication and review the positive impact of leading by example in their district. They will also learn about Centennial Report Days, the formal structure established to monitor the implementation of Centennial programs at all levels.

Utilizing Resources

Participants will review resources available to them: budget and print resources/guides available through Lions100.org. Participants will also study both the Club Centennial Planning Guide and the Centennial Dashboard Report and have an opportunity to practice using both for constructive dialogue with other Centennial team members.

Motivation

Participants will learn about two common types of motivation, how to apply motivation to enhance behavior and performance, and how to implement strategies to develop motivation among Centennial team members.

Encouraging Collaboration

Participants will learn about the importance of collaborating with others, including the characteristics of successful collaborators. They will also have an opportunity to brainstorm ways to encourage collaboration among the members of their Centennial team.

Building Awareness

Participants will learn why building awareness of the Centennial is important and identify several opportunities to build awareness within their district.  They will also determine key messages of the Centennial and create their own “elevator speech” to be able to concisely communicate with Lions and the community.

Planning and Facilitating Training

Participants will learn the planning that goes into a learning event as well as how to find resources and strategies for those learning events. They will also learn to recognize effective strategies for engaging adult learners and how to recognize adult learning characteristics.
